Reimi, 4th grade student, was awarded the poster award at the 23rd annual meeting of the Japanese Coral Reef Society. She presented her research on the role of photoinhibition to mitigate oxidative damage in corals during heat stress. Reimi is under going her graduation research at the Shimoda Marine Research Center through an agreement between the University of Tsukuba and the International Christion University. The agreement started in 2016 and we hosted two students already !
Her research use microsensors and PAM for a fine measurements of gross photosynthesis and photoinhibition.
